  • Virgo Season Energy: How to Organize Your Mind and Clear Mental Clutter

Every month at Latitude Wellness, we explore a theme. In my personal practice, I also set a word (or phrase) of the month to anchor my energy. Considering its September and Virgo season, my sun sign and solar return, the theme and my word this month is organization.

Harnessing this energy, especially before eclipse season begins, sets us up for success on so many levels. And when I say organization, I’m not just talking about your sock drawer (although I do love tidy spaces). I mean organizing what’s happening in your mind and energetic field. For more tips on clearing physical clutter, read here.

To get organized mentally, we first have to clear the clutter. The thoughts and beliefs that are running the show unchecked.

That begins with awareness.

Notice your mood and tone: are you showing up light, playful, and witty, or heavy, somber, and serious? With my clients, I always ask what they’re feeling and where in their body where they are carrying tension or heaviness. Maybe you’re running a mile a minute, scattered, anxious, and unfocused. All of this is part of the human experience. What matters is what we do with it. The awareness we bring and the choices we make to shift into a more desirable state.

An organized mind helps us respond rather than react.

In the middle of a presentation, a heated conversation, or even a hangry outburst, you may not have the luxury of pausing in the moment. However, with practice, creating order in your mental and energetic space prepares you for those situations. It guides you in making decisions aligned with your season of life and what feels good for your mind, body, and spirit. Reducing chaos in a world that constantly demands our attention isn’t easy. Carving out even small windows of clarity keeps you above the noise instead of lost in the vortex of low vibration energy.

If you have been noticing old beliefs and patterns resurfacing – the ones you thought you worked through, popping up like, whoa, where did that come from? Realize there’s gold in it. These moments are opportunities calling for your attention. The moment when you can return to you – home base – the you who knows the answers and what to do. This part of you doesn’t need validation from anyone else.

They are reminders that some things are not yours to carry any longer.

We are influenced daily by our food, our environment, the endless scroll of social media, our peers, our phones. An organized mind notices these cues early. Usually, our body registers them before our mind can process. The real work is creating the awareness to catch those signals, pause, and choose how you will respond.

What can you do about it?

    • Do a Brain Dump: Write it all out: your worries, to-do’s, even the random chatter in your head. Clearing it onto paper helps your mind breathe and brings perspective. Plus it’s pen to paper which is an energetic release. Notice what happens after you write it down! That is why so many people refer to their journaling practice. Which by the way – brain dumping is different than journaling.

    • Practice the Pause: In moments of tension, take three slow breaths before responding. This breaks the cycle of reactivity and opens space for a thoughtful response.

    • Check in with Your Body: Notice your jaw, shoulders, or breath. Your body flags stress long before your mind catches on. Let those signals be your early warning system.

    • Limit Inputs: Your mind can’t stay organized if it’s flooded with noise. Audit what you consume – news, social media, conversations and notice how each leaves you feeling.

    • Create Rituals: Daily practices like meditation, journaling, or sound healing reset your energetic field. Consistency here creates stability, even when life feels chaotic. Out of all of these items, this one is high on my list and prioritized heavily.

    • Reframe What Surfaces: When old beliefs pop up, acknowledge them without judgment, thank them for showing up, and choose a different perspective. Turning clutter into clarity is part of the practice.

As we move through September and Virgo season, organization becomes more than just a task, it’s an act of self-care. Virgo energy invites us to refine, simplify, and bring our lives into alignment with what is important to you. When you organize your mind, you create space for clarity, for intention, and for choices that honor your priorities.

This month, let organization be your anchor: not rigid or controlling, but a supportive blueprint that frees your energy for what lights you up. An organized mind is the foundation of an organized life and both are pathways back to balance, presence, and purpose.

Here’s to living on purpose!
