Also known as your purpose, truth, mission, or true North.
Your why is your unwavering belief that helps propel you forward.
It’s what motivates you to keep going when you feel down, unmotivated, or stuck. This is your truth and reason for waking up every day. Your why is who you are, who you want to be, and how you want to show up for yourself and for the world.
Do you have a clear understanding of your why? Do you have it written down in a place where you see it often? If not, grab a blank sheet of paper and start writing.
Think about the question, What would you do if you knew you would never fail?
Start brainstorming. Don’t be shy and think outside of your norm – as if anything were possible.
Another question to consider, If money was not an issue, what would you do for free?
What would you create and be super excited about doing, that thing, for the next one, five, ten, twenty years of your life? Think about the feelings associated with your WHY and purpose. Step into the feeling. What are you experiencing? What are the sounds around you? What do you see? What are you doing? Who are you with?
Recall a moment or an experience when you were completely content, blissed out, happy, saying to yourself this is what its’ all about. Step into that moment and describe your senses to the point where you are recreating that feeling right now.
Once you have your written your why, place it up on your wall, on your phone, on your vision board, incorporate it in your goals, journal – wherever the place and whatever works for you. Place it in a location where you will see it often.
Knowing your why empowers you to work towards what you are aiming to accomplish. It helps you align with the actions that will give you results and bring you peace, joy, freedom, happiness, contentment, accomplishment – whatever you are seeking. Incorporate your WHY when it comes to making decisions and you will be able to say no more often, so you can say yes to the best!
